Urology
Maryland
Updated July 31
A leading hospital affiliated with University of Maryland is excited to welcome a urologist to join its established community-based urology program in Southern Maryland! The incoming urologist will enjoy a broad general urology practice, flexible operating access, and an extremely low call volume.
Physicians benefit from the close proximity between clinic and hospital while maintaining the collegial atmosphere and autonomy often associated with a smaller community practice. With an established patient base to inherit and the opportunity to play an important role in the continued growth of the program, this position offers the chance to make a meaningful impact in the community while enjoying convenient access to downtown Washington, D.C.
Practice Highlights:
• General urology position, no robotic training requirement
• Strong outpatient volume and a manageable surgical caseload
• Flexible OR access with dedicated operating time available
• Physicians benefit from excellent work/life balance
• Shared 1:2 call schedule, with no trauma responsibilities and approximately 95% of call consists of phone consults
• No current robot on site, but funding has already been approved for a da Vinci 5 robot within approximately 18 months
• Clinic located less than two miles from the hospital campus
• Opportunity to help shape the future growth of the urology program
• Typical clinic volume of approximately 25 patients per day
• Competitive compensation package including comprehensive benefits, sign-on, relocation, quality, and production bonuses
• Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, PTO, retirement benefits, and employer-paid professional liability tail coverage upon termination of employment
• Visa support available (J-1, H1-B, and O-1)
Location Highlights:
Located in La Plata, Maryland, physicians enjoy the charm and affordability of a growing Southern Maryland community while maintaining convenient access to Washington, D.C. The area offers excellent schools, family-friendly neighborhoods, and a strong sense of community, along with abundant outdoor recreation including boating, fishing, hiking, and waterfront activities along the Potomac River and nearby Chesapeake Bay. With less congestion, shorter commutes, and a lower cost of living than many D.C. suburbs, La Plata provides an exceptional opportunity to enjoy both a high quality of life and easy access to the amenities of the nation's capital.
