100% Pediatric Urology Opportunity Near Virginia Beach!
Urology
VA
Updated February 26
An established, academically affiliated pediatric urology program in Coastal Virginia is seeking a fellowship-trained Pediatric Urologist to join a growing team in Norfolk. This is a full-time, 100% pediatric urology position offering a compelling mix of complex surgical volume, subspecialty flexibility, and a strong mentorship culture — all within a collaborative, high-acuity practice.
Practice Highlights:
You will join four full-time Pediatric Urologists — spanning early, mid, and late career — supported by three dedicated Nurse Practitioners who assist in the OR, run independent clinic sessions, and provide daytime call and inpatient coverage. The team operates across a main OR and two satellite ASCs, with dedicated block time at all three locations.
The program is equipped with a dedicated da Vinci Xi robot (not shared with adult services), a comprehensive stone program including PCNL, ESWL, and URS with Holmium and Thulium lasers, access to IR with surgeon-obtained percutaneous access available, and an in-clinic Video Urodynamics (VUDS) suite.
Position Details:
• 100% Pediatric Urology — no adult cases
• 8–10 OR days per month with dedicated block time at all three sites
• 2 administrative days per month; additional research time available
• Call 1:5 (shared with incoming hire)
• Subspecialty interests welcomed — robust volume of transplant, caudal regression, PUV, CAKUT, and neurogenic bladder patients
• No centralized scheduling
• Academic affiliation with Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS) and Old Dominion University; Professorship appointments available in Urology, Pediatrics, or both
• Strong mentorship culture — particularly supportive for new graduates
Candidate Requirements:
• MD or DO
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatric Urology
Location Highlights:
Norfolk, Virginia sits at the heart of the greater Hampton Roads region, offering coastal living without the cost of larger East Coast metros. Minutes from Virginia Beach and the Chesapeake Bay, the area is ideal for outdoor enthusiasts — boating, fishing, kayaking, and waterfront dining are all part of everyday life. Neighborhoods range from the historic charm of Ghent to newer suburban communities, with access to strong public and private schools.
Beyond the coast, the Blue Ridge Mountains and Snowshoe Mountain ski resort are within driving distance, and Washington, D.C. is approximately three to four hours away. New York City is reachable by train or a short flight, and Norfolk International Airport makes travel convenient. The region's strong military presence supports a stable housing market and a diverse, welcoming community — making Norfolk an outstanding place to build both a career and a life.
