Sarasota Arthritis Center, a physician-owned rheumatology practice in beautiful Southwest Florida, is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Rheumatologist to join our growing teams in our Sarasota and Venice locations. Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with a wide range of rheumatic and autoimmune conditions.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including medication management, infusion and biologic therapies, physical therapy, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Perform medical procedures such as joint injections and aspirations as clinically appropriate.
  • Work closely with medical assistants, infusion nurses, advanced practice providers, and administrative staff to maintain efficient patient flow and ensure high-quality care. 
  • Collaborate with primary care physicians and other specialists to coordinate comprehensive patient care. 
  • Educate patients and their families on diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and disease management strategies. 
  • Document patient encounters, treatment plans, and procedures accurately and in a timely manner in the electronic medical record (EMR) system. 
  • Follow practice policies, clinical protocols, and regulatory requirements while supporting quality improvement initiatives across the practice. 
  • Maintain appropriate licensure, board certification, and continuing medical education requirements. 
  • Review laboratory results, imaging reports, and diagnostic studies and communicate results and follow-up recommendations to patients in a timely manner. 
  • Prescribe medications and monitor patient response to therapy, including immunosuppressive and biologic medications commonly used in rheumatologic treatment. 
  • Collaborate with the Infusion Department regarding biologic and infusion therapies, including determining appropriate treatment plans and monitoring patient outcomes. 
  • Provide clinical guidance and supervision to Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), Medical Assistants, and clinical staff as appropriate. 
  • Participate in practice meetings, clinical discussions, and initiatives designed to improve patient care, efficiency, and overall practice performance. 
  • Support the growth and reputation of the practice by providing excellent patient care and maintaining strong professional relationships with referring providers and the local medical community.

Skills

Qualifications
  • Education: Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a residency in Internal Medicine.
  • Completed Fellowship training in Rheumatology.
  • Board certification in Rheumatology.
  • Valid and unrestricted medical license in Florida (or ability to obtain a valid medical license in Florida).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
