Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care
- Provide comprehensive inpatient internal medicine care to adult patients
- Perform admissions, daily rounding, and discharge planning
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions
- Develop individualized treatment plans and coordinate specialty referrals
- Respond to urgent clinical issues on the medical floors
- Document all encounters accurately and promptly in the EMR
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with hospitalists, PAs/NPs, nursing, case management, and ancillary teams
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and care coordination meetings
- Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up needs
Quality & Safety
- Adhere to evidence-based guidelines and hospital protocols
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Support a culture of safety, respect, and patient-centered care
Qualifications
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine
- Current or eligible New York State medical license
- Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
- Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care
Schedule & Work Environment
- Full-time hospital-based position
- Rotating schedule (days, evenings, weekends, holidays as needed)
