Position Overview

Seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Anesthesiologist to join a well-established anesthesia service at a community-based critical access hospital in Northern New Hampshire. This role offers broad clinical exposure, strong CRNA collaboration, and a lifestyle-friendly schedule—minus the academic politics and metro burnout.

This is an ideal opportunity for a physician who enjoys hands-on practice, values autonomy, and wants to make a visible impact in a close-knit hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide anesthesia services for surgical, obstetric, and procedural cases
  • Oversee and collaborate with CRNAs in a care-team or independent model
  • Deliver care across general surgery, orthopedics, OB/GYN, endoscopy, and emergency cases
  • Participate in call coverage as part of a shared, reasonable rotation
  • Conduct pre-anesthesia evaluations and post-anesthesia follow-up
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and compliance with safety standards

Qualifications

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology
  • Active or eligible New Hampshire medical license
  • Comfortable with a broad anesthesia caseload
  • OB experience required; additional skills (regional, trauma, thoracic) a plus
  • Strong clinical judgment and collaborative mindset

Why This Role

  • High-earning potential in a low-cost-of-living market
  • Broad scope of practice with real physician autonomy
  • Supportive leadership and experienced CRNA team
  • Predictable call structure
  • Exceptional quality of life: mountains, outdoor recreation, and zero commute drama
