Position Overview
We are seeking a Rheumatologist to provide full-time locum coverage in Pennsylvania. The physician will manage a full outpatient schedule, provide telehealth visits, supervise two on-site Physician Assistants, and offer limited hospital consults and after-hours call.
Schedule & Coverage
- Clinic: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Night Call: Monday–Friday, 4:30 PM – 8:00 AM
- Weekend Call: Saturday–Sunday, 24-hour call (8:00 AM – 8:00 AM)
- Shifts per Month: 10–20
- Typical Volume:
- Outpatients: 12–16 per day
- After-Hours Calls: 0–5 per month
- Hospital Consults: 0–5 per month (often by phone/EMR during business hours)
Clinical Scope
- Typical Conditions: Rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, lupus, scleroderma, gout, vasculitis, inflammatory myopathies, sarcoidosis, polymyalgia rheumatica, giant cell arteritis, and more.
- Procedures: Joint injections.
- Patients: 100% adult population.
- Support: Two Physician Assistants (mid-level coverage 8 AM – 4:30 PM daily).
- EMR: Epic
Requirements
- Certification: Board Certified/Board Eligible in Rheumatology
- Experience: Minimum 1 year in Rheumatology practice
- Licensure: Active Pennsylvania medical license (IMLC considered)
- DEA: Required
- Certification: BLS required
