Opportunity Overview:

We are actively seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Board Certified Hematology Oncology Physician for an impactful locum tenens opportunity in Richmond, Indiana. This is a crucial role for a physician ready to provide comprehensive care within a supportive environment, serving a community in need.

This position offers the chance to integrate into an established team, managing a diverse range of hematologic and oncologic conditions. We are specifically looking for a provider who can offer substantial commitment to ensure continuity of care for patients.

Commitment Required:
  • Minimum of 3 weeks per month, plus call.
  • Full-time commitment is strongly preferred.
  • Mon – Fri 8am – 5pm - OT will apply after 8 hours minimum.
  • Weekend Call Fri (5pm) – Mon (7am) on a rotation
  • Start Date: Targeting January
  • Please note: Candidates with only 1-2 weeks of availability per month will not be considered for this particular need.

Skills

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with hematologic and oncologic disorders.
  • Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including history taking, physical examinations, and ordering/interpreting diagnostic tests.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and supportive care.
  • Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including radiation oncologists, surgeons, pathologists, radiologists, and support staff.
  • Participate in call coverage as per schedule.
  • Educate patients and their families on diagnoses, treatment options, potential side effects, and prognosis.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and complete electronic medical records.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the department.

Qualifications:
  • Medical Doctor (MD/DO) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Board Certified in BOTH Hematology and Medical Oncology (REQUIRED).
  • Active, unrestricted Indiana Medical License (or ability to obtain).
  • DEA registration.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
  • Demonstrated clinical proficiency in managing a broad spectrum of hematologic and oncologic cases.
  • Strong commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team-oriented skills.
