This position offers the chance to integrate into an established team, managing a diverse range of hematologic and oncologic conditions. We are specifically looking for a provider who can offer substantial commitment to ensure continuity of care for patients.
Commitment Required:
- Minimum of 3 weeks per month, plus call.
- Full-time commitment is strongly preferred.
- Mon – Fri 8am – 5pm - OT will apply after 8 hours minimum.
- Weekend Call Fri (5pm) – Mon (7am) on a rotation
- Start Date: Targeting January
- Please note: Candidates with only 1-2 weeks of availability per month will not be considered for this particular need.
Skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with hematologic and oncologic disorders.
- Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including history taking, physical examinations, and ordering/interpreting diagnostic tests.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and supportive care.
- Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including radiation oncologists, surgeons, pathologists, radiologists, and support staff.
- Participate in call coverage as per schedule.
- Educate patients and their families on diagnoses, treatment options, potential side effects, and prognosis.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and complete electronic medical records.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the department.
Qualifications:
- Medical Doctor (MD/DO) degree from an accredited institution.
- Board Certified in BOTH Hematology and Medical Oncology (REQUIRED).
- Active, unrestricted Indiana Medical License (or ability to obtain).
- DEA registration.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Demonstrated clinical proficiency in managing a broad spectrum of hematologic and oncologic cases.
- Strong commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team-oriented skills.
