VA Medical Center - 1-Yr Contract
Opportunity Overview: We are actively seeking two highly skilled and compassionate Board Certified/Board Eligible Oncologists to serve our Veterans at a prominent VA Medical Center in New York.
This is a rewarding full-time, Monday - Friday 8:00a - 4:30p - No weekends or holidays, 1-year contract position with the potential for extension, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to a comprehensive cancer care program within the VA healthcare system.

The VA Medical Center provides a supportive and collaborative environment, focused on delivering patient-centered care to Veterans. You will play a crucial role in diagnosing, treating, and managing a diverse range of cancer cases, working within a multidisciplinary team.
Skills
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive oncological care, including diagnosis, staging, treatment planning, and long-term management of various cancers (e.g., solid tumors, hematologic malignancies).
- Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including history taking, physical examinations, and ordering/interpreting diagnostic tests.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and supportive care, in accordance with evidence-based guidelines.
- Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including radiation oncologists, surgeons, pathologists, radiologists, nurse navigators, and palliative care specialists.
- Provide patient and family education regarding cancer diagnosis, treatment options, potential side effects, and prognosis.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and complete electronic medical records.
Qualifications:
- Medical Doctor (MD/DO) degree from an accredited institution.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Medical Oncology.
- Active, unrestricted Medical License in New York (or ability to obtain).
- DEA registration.
- Current ACLS certification.
- Demonstrated experience in managing a broad spectrum of oncological cases.
- Strong commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care to Veterans.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team-oriented skills.
