Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Palliative Care Physician to join our interdisciplinary care team. This role focuses on improving quality of life for patients with serious, chronic, or life-limiting illnesses through expert symptom management, goals-of-care discussions, and collaborative care planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide inpatient and/or outpatient palliative care consultations
- Manage complex symptoms including pain, dyspnea, nausea, anxiety, and depression
- Lead advance care planning and goals-of-care discussions with patients and families
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including nursing, social work, chaplaincy, and case management
- Support patients across the continuum of care, including serious illness and end-of-life care
- Educate patients, families, and staff on palliative care principles
- Document care plans clearly and in compliance with regulatory standards
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Palliative Care (or eligibility through primary specialty)
- Active or eligible medical license in the practicing state
- Strong communication skills with a patient-centered approach
- Commitment to compassionate, high-quality care
Preferred Experience
- Experience in inpatient consultative palliative care and/or outpatient clinics
- Background in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Oncology
- Hospice and palliative medicine fellowship training (preferred but not required depending on eligibility)
