You will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team focused on delivering holistic, patient-centered care to a deserving Veteran population.
Skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive primary care services to an assigned panel of Veteran patients, including preventive care, diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic conditions.
- Conduct thorough medical histories, physical examinations, and mental health screenings.
- Order, interpret, and act upon diagnostic tests, laboratory results, and imaging studies.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including medication management, lifestyle modifications, and referrals to specialty care when appropriate.
- Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including nurses, social workers, mental health professionals, pharmacists, and specialists.
- Educate patients and their families on health maintenance, disease prevention, and treatment options.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and complete electronic medical records (VA's VistA/CPRS system).
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and other administrative duties as required to enhance Veteran care.
Qualifications:
- Medical Doctor (MD/DO) degree from an accredited institution.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
- Active, unrestricted Medical License in any U.S. state or territory (VA licensure is federal and applies universally).
- DEA registration.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Demonstrated clinical proficiency in comprehensive primary care.
- Strong commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care to Veterans.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team-oriented skills.
- Proficiency with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems (experience with VA's VistA/CPRS is a plus, but training will be provided).
