Pennsylvania | Part-Time | Night and Day Coverage Needed
We are seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine physician for part-time locum tenens coverage at a community emergency department in Pennsylvania, with coverage required at two nearby sites.
This opportunity is ideal for physicians who are comfortable working independently, prefer night shifts, and want a low-volume ED setting with strong APP support.
Position Highlights
- Part-time locum tenens opportunity
- Approximately 4 shifts per month
- 12-hour shifts (7p–7a primarily; some day or mid-level coverage may be requested)
- Coverage required at two local facilities
- Solo physician coverage with APP support
- No call responsibilities
- Cerner EMR
- Full privileges available
Clinical Environment
- Approximately 50–55 patients per 24 hours
- APP coverage daily with physician oversight
- Admissions coordinated through hospitalist and specialty services
- No ventilator management required
- Broad patient mix: pediatric, adult, and geriatric
- Typical procedures include:
Intubations - Central lines
- Chest tubes
- Joint and fracture reductions
- Laceration repair
- I&Ds and standard ED procedures
Travel & Logistics
- Lodging, mileage, rental car, and parking provided per policy
- Candidates must be local enough to drive to the facility
- Estimated credentialing timeframe: ~90 days
- Start date: Spring 2026 (targeted late April)
Skills
Candidate Requirements
- MD or DO
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine
- Completion of an Emergency Medicine residency
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Medicine experience
- Active Pennsylvania medical license (IMLC accepted)
- DEA required
- Comfortable working night shifts
- Stroke certification required
- Willingness to travel locally between sites
