The VA Medical Center in Clarksburg, West Virginia is seeking a qualified Emergency Medicine Physician for a one-year contract opportunity providing high-quality care to our nation’s Veterans. This position offers flexible scheduling with multiple shift block options, including 10-hour and 12-hour shifts, allowing for excellent work-life balance.
Position Highlights:
- One-year contract: February 1, 2026 – January 31, 2027
- Flexible scheduling with 10- and 12-hour shift blocks
- No overnight call outside of scheduled shifts

Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive emergency medical care to adult patients
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute illnesses and injuries
- Perform emergency procedures within scope of practice
- Collaborate with consulting services and inpatient teams as needed
- Document care in the VA’s electronic medical record system
- Ensure compliance with VA clinical standards and policies
Requirements:
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine
- Active, unrestricted U.S. medical license (any state)
- BLS and ACLS required (PALS may be required depending on scope)
- DEA registration
- Experience in emergency medicine preferred
- Must meet VA credentialing and privileging requirements
