Anesthesiologist Opportunity – Community Hospital Setting in SW Chicago
- Join a collegial, well-supported anesthesiology team at a community hospital with a stable schedule and consistent case mix
- We are currently seeking a full-time anesthesiologist to join our expanding department.
Current Team Structure:
- 3 full-time anesthesiologists and one 0.7 FTE anesthesiologist
- 1 full-time CRNA
- Supplemental coverage includes:
- 1 anesthesiologist assisting with day shifts 1–2 times/week
- 1 CRNA assisting with day shifts 1–2 times/week
- 2 anesthesiologists providing 3–4 in-house call shifts per month each
Required Experience:
- New graduates welcome – ideal for early-career physicians eager to learn and grow
- Must have completed standard anesthesiology residency training
Schedule & Call:
- Typical week: 3–4 weekday shifts (Monday–Friday), 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- Call shifts:
- One 12:00 PM – 7:00 AM in-house call per week, followed by a post-call day off
- One weekend call required monthly
- Three 3:00 PM – 7:00 AM backup calls per month (approximately 25% chance of being called in, with most cases completed by 10:00 PM)
Case Types:
- Broad range of community hospital cases, including:
- Orthopedic, general, abdominal, GI, GU, gynecological, ENT, OB/Labor & Delivery, podiatry
- Pediatric cases (ages 5+) including tonsillectomies, appendectomies, and ortho
- No neurosurgery, cardiac, thoracic, vascular, transplant, or trauma cases
Facilities:
- 3 main operating rooms
- 1 GI suite
- 1 dedicated OB OR
